Bell & Ross has introduced an innovative luminous material with the BR-X5 Lum. This advanced composite blends epoxy quartz fiber, a luminescent agent, and a resin binder. Unlike carbon fiber, the epoxy quartz fiber used in LM3D is nearly invisible, allowing light to diffuse evenly. The result is a material that offers the same strength as carbon fiber but is 70% lighter than steel, while maintaining a consistent color and brightness.
Innovative Case Architecture: BR-X5 Lum
The BR-X5 Lum features a sophisticated multi-component case design, combining layers of LM3D with grade 2 microblasted black titanium that has a DLC (diamond-like carbon) finish. The watch’s mechanism is housed in a titanium container, cut from a solid block and finished with DLC, which is then encased between two luminous LM3D shields. This advanced photoluminescent composite, made from quartz fibers, emits a vibrant green glow, highlighting the watch's cutting-edge design and craftsmanship.
